I've added some proposed patches to the bug report above.
Nicolas, if you have time and see the benefits of potentially reducing the number of daemon/helper apps in the Dock, it'd be nice if you could include these patches in your testing for the 4.13 release. Until now the modifications haven't made a lot of difference; kwalletd would remain hidden but we don't use that (for the moment...), and the nepomuk apps claim they require a GUI (just like kglobabaccel).
