PS: a wrapper executable could also be a perfect place to squelch the log/console pollution a number of KDE apps continue to cause despite disabling all debug output (kmail, kdevelop are main contenders). I've already established with a much simpler binary wrapper that doing fclose on stderr and stdout has the intended effect here.
