[KDE/Mac] sound & KDE

Hello,

phonon and phonon-backend-gstreamer have been updated, and I've modified local portfiles to install v4.8.0 here (not yet posted to trac).

However, this still doesn't activate anything in Qt's own qtconfig phonon tab.
What is the actual status of sound on KDE? Multimedia applications do play sound, but in order to have sound from notifications I seem to have to configure them to invoke an explicit play command (/opt/local/bin/play <soundfile>) ...
