[KDE/Mac] Another QSP update for the OSX/CI system! + XDG_* vars on OSX?

Hi,

I’ve committed another update to the QSP patch which joins two separate switch statements [1].

Well, perhaps that was unnecessary or even counter-productive, as the two switch statements 
were quite distinct in the way they worked. The 1st was directly return’ing from its branches
and the 2nd wasn’t, but just prepared the value for the final return.

So perhaps, from perspective of readability it is probably a commit which I should rather revert…

What’s your opinion?
