[KDE/Mac] Getting going with the OSX build server

Hey all,

As you know last week there was a meeting to discuss the finer points of
getting the build service up-and-running. In the end it was just myself and
Bjoern, apologies received from Jeff and Marcus.

So, first things first, the machine we are playing with is
furina.intevation.de and has the following spec:

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro4,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2,26 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per processor): 8 MB
Memory: 6 GB

Access to the "kde" account on the machine is available over ssh. It is also
possible to access the running desktop over VNC tunnelled through ssh. To do
either of these you will need to provide an ssh pubkey to Bjoern Ricks in a
signed email. If you are not Jeff or Marcus, please liaise with us before
sending your key (funnily enough, we are not just going to hand out access to
everyone, just because they asked nicely).

What we would like to see happen with this server is twofold:
- Continuous builds of master
- Builds of KDE releases as DMG/PKG

Preferably the whole shebang should be hooked up to CDash so we actually get
some reporting to entice people into fixing builds. How we get there is a
different matter...

Off the top of our heads, our plan is to use Macports to handle the dependency
tree and then simply use scripts for the KDE(PIM) stack. This raises
interesting questions like "So, just how do we get the dependencies into the
DMG when we are using CPack?"

Marcus, we need you buddy! :)

So, I propose we now have a further meeting at the same time this week
(Friday, 1400UTC, #kde-mac) where we start to cover further technical issues:

- Ensure everyone who needs it has ssh access to the box
- Sort out a kde.org hostname for the machine
- Discuss the make-up of the build/packging environment

Alrighty, I think that is all for now folks. Please ack/nack the meeting on
Friday.

All the best,
Paul
