When I do a new major release of the fink packages, I go through all
my patches and push everything that isn't fink-specific upstream.

That said, the specific crash patch you're talking about was a bit of
a hack IIRC, and I really am not comfortable enough in C++ to push it
upstream.  Although, I guess if it's wrapped in #ifdef __APPLE__, it's
no worse for anyone else.
