by using pathsetup or putting /sw/bin/init.sh in your ~/.bash_profile or
~/.profile files.

Removing fink should have no effect on your issue.  Your error has
nothing to do with Fink, and everything to do with something that's
getting loaded wrong for whatever reason by dyld.

I think I asked this before (I don't remember now) but you installed on
your main volume, right?  Not on an external drive or anything?

The installer allows it but it won't actually work.
