Well, one question... you keep starting these things from the
command-line; do you have anything like KDEDIR or KDEDIRS set in your
environment?

Your other post mentioning ~/.kde is a red flag, KDE/Mac uses
~/Library/Preferences/KDE -- if you're seeing that, then maybe your
stuff is getting mixed up with a fink/macports install of KDE3?

Also the libiconv error is still there, without fixing this, nothign
else will work.  I'm out of ideas to debug it though, there's something
weird going on on your system and I'm not sure how to figure it out.
You have something overriding the libraries to use something incorrect.

If you don't have any DYLD_* environment variables set, I'm not sure
where else to look.

Do any of these apps work if you properly start them from the Finder?
Running the KDE/Mac stuff from the command-line is not really supported.
