hmm, that could be a hint...

Do you have DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH set or anything?

What does "set | grep DYLD" print?

If it's set, you should unset it.  DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH does not work like
LD_LIBRARY_PATH and should not be used in general on OSX.
