Hi,

It's very easy.  I plop shell scripts in `~/.kde/Autostart'  If
you're using KDE 4, `~/.kde4/Autostart'

Some of my shell scripts start GUI applications (which minimize on
start) or background goodies (e.g. `unclutter')
