There is one more thing.  For some reason, a plain install of KDE has 
KDESU here:

$KDEDIR/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu

{where KDEDIR is the prefix where KDE-4 is installed}

Distros probably have a link, but if not, make one to $KDEDIR/bin/kdesu
