my apoligies.

after going offline, i rebooted to f10 and opened konqueror in root user
mode. i found that i was not able to open kwrite at all. error message
was that it could not open kwrite.

i was using root mode for file moving and directory structuring and only
thinking that i had also used it for file editing.

i then went back thru other systems and found that i could edit when
using konqueror in root mode.
