I have Gwenview on two PCs. One has kipi-plugins, the other does not. 
Both show the meta-info tab in "Properties". The difference is that on 
the "with-kipi" PC, there is an additional way of accessing this 
information (via the Plugin Menu, as you say in the above post) and if 
you access with this method there seems to be more ability to add 
metainfo which is not already held in the graphic file.
