[kde-linux] KuickShow under KDE 4

I took another look at Gwenview, it is similar to KuickShow in most respects.
Selecting 'Properties' from the Side-Bar brings up a dialog very similar to
KuickShow but is missing the MetaInfo tab.
The 'Information' data in the Side-Bar lists 'User Comment:' but this must
be something added by Gwenview and not the EXIF user info metadata.

Maybe someone can help me with this:
I downloaded kuickshow-0.9.1-kde4.2.4 from  
/linux/KDE/stable/4.2.4/src/extragear
It uses cmake, so I assume the build process is:
. download cmake
.download imlib
.run cmake, then make  and make install
Is this basically the correct sequence?
