i'm using the svn 2.0 version of kword. i've looked inside the
configuration stuff, but when i try to open
a file the only type listed is odt. i cannot select any other type of
file. the old 1.6 serie would open word
and other types of files without much issues (at least the ones
supported) but the new svn version doesn't
seem to. and since i've had some health issues in the last months i
haven't been able to search for the
problem. i still have quite some stuff to do before trying to
understand if the problem is on my side or on the
upstream one and i still haven't fully recovered from the illness, so
i really cannot stay too much in front of
the pc doing this.
to me this is not an issue, but since i've had it i thought about
sharing it since mr. Smith has been saying
that the 2.0 version would be the best integrated office suite ever.
but if the problem i'm experiencing is to be
confirmed i don't really think that his words are really true... i'd
most gladly be on the wrong side this time
and that the kword would really work well and not as i've been experiencing.
another issue is with kpresenter, which locks on start and with kspead
having build difficulties. i know that
the svn version is not really build friendly, but at least it should
have more features than the normal released
one...
