That may be the issue.  No, I am not using KDE-4.2 yet so I just copied 
2 trailers to my 4.2 test installation and they worked.  In 3.5.x you 
can configure this maximum size.  It is also in KDE-4.2

In Konqueror:

	Settings -> Configure Konqueror : File Management : Views
