do not know if this will help with konqueror web browser,
as i use firefox web browser.

in 'control center > kde components > file associations',
which is same as, konqueror web browser;
 'settings > configure konqueror > configure > file associations

i have these settings for 'known types';

application -
  chm = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
  mml = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
  xml = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
  xul = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
  xsd = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
  xhtml = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
text -
  html = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror
  plain = kwrite, kedit
  xml = firefox web browser, kwrite, konqueror

with these settings, if i use konqueror to open a web page and then
<ctrl+u> to view html source, it opens with kwrite.
