[kde-linux] kde default settings directory

Nothing really. Just curious how it could be done. I read somewhere that 
Gentoo is doing it, but I couldn't figure out how. I built KDE 4.1.1 using 
.kde and now I have added some older stuff from KDE 3.5.10 and since then 
things have gotten very slow.

When I create a new user the system is very fast, but after using both KDE 
3.5.10 and 4.1.1 apps under .kde it gets slow.

Not sure if it is related or not, but I just rebuilt my kdelibs-4.1.1 using 
.kde4 and I will start over with my user and see if things slow down again so 
quickly.
