Well, with you Gentoo you have to know how to enable features. Check
out the USE flag history. Put history in your make.conf, package.use
file or whatever you need for your system, then do a emerge -D world to
update. I'm sure it will reemerge kopete but there may be a couple
others as well.
If you do a emerge -pv kopete, you will see that history is disabled.
