ok, folks, excuse me for using kde 3 for example here...
if under 'add applets', add 'quick launcher' to panel. then, anything
that is in 'panel menu' can be added to 'quick launcher'. if it is not
in 'panel menu', right click menu icon and select 'menu editor'.
click 'file > new submenu', call it 'my applets' or what ever. highlight
it, click 'file > new item', fill in blanks for what ever you want to
add. close editor.
now you can right click on a default icon and select 'add application',
select application you have added to menu.
if they have removed this ability from kde 4.x, then kde group has
really screwed things up.
