Hello,

I have some strange trouble here:

Configuration:
==============

Please ask for more specific details, if needed; there are to many
systems, where I can reproduce the problem, although most of them run
SuSE or Debian.

Software:
- ---------

One of the configurations, the error occurs:

Client: SuSE 10.0
$ kprinter --version
Qt: 3.3.6
KDE: 3.5.3 Level "a"
KPrinter: 0.0.1

Server: Debian 3.1:
cupsys 1.2.4

Hardware:
- ---------

Printer: OKIC5540MFP (attached via ethernet, duplex unit installed)
The error occurs at least with the following printer-drivers: Some of
the original CUPS-OKI-Drivers, standard PS driver, PPD-File from
OKI-Windows-Driver

Problem:
========

If kprinter is used, duplex printing is selected, and more than one page
on one sheet is to be printed (via filter tab or via driver setting),
the printer produces only blank pages (as many as needed with only one
of the settings, haven't tested yet, whether the number corresponds to
the number needed without duplex or to the number without number-up,
because number-up was set to 2 in my experiments).

BUT:
- ----

The following ways work:

*) lp -h bioinfserv -d OKIC5540 -o sides=two-sided-long-edge -o
number-up=2 file.pdf

*) cupsdoprint -H bioinfserv -P OKIC5540 -o sides=two-sided-long-edge -o
number-up=2 file.pdf

*) printing via samba and windows

*) printing via windows directly

Any ideas?

Thank You,

Stephan
