[kde-linux] kde4 questions

I got the recent kubuntu kde4 snapshot up and running on and Edgy system 
according to the directions at 
http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde4-3.80.2.php

However the desktop configuration seems to be from my kde 3.5.5 installation.  
The directions say to
export KDEHOME=/home//.kde4

1.  Is the double slash an error?  Should KDEHOME be defined as /home/.kde4?
2.  Does the panel run in the snapshot?  It didn't load for me.
3.  Does Alt+F2 bring up Run Command?  Didn't work.
