[kde-linux] strange jpg issue

Hi list; 

I'm running SuSE 10 and KDE 3.5.2

I've noticed that recently I am unable to view .jpg files. In Konqueror I 
could previously hold the mouse cursor on a jpg and see a preview of the 
image, this no longer works although it still works for png and gif files. 
Also kuickshow no longer even shows a file listing of jpg files in a 
directory, again it still works for gif and png files.

If I create a new user and login as the new user then everything works fine. 
Anyone have any tips, advice, help with this?
