Actually this helps a lot... knowing what to call the place to turn it
off, made it fairly simple to find:

 K -> System Settings -> KDE Components -> Services Manager

Knowing that what I wanted to uncheck & stop was "mediamanager", made it
down right easy..

So far it's working...
