[kde-linux] konqueror very slow as web browser ?

I like Konqueror (3.5.3) - it renders all pages accurately and doesn't 
crash. However, it displays webpages very slowly compared to Firefox and 
Opera. Is this a known issue or do I need to finetune konqueror ?
