[kde-linux] Trying to install kde 3.5.1

You are running twm as the default window manager.
Search for ~/.xinitrc or create it, if it is not there and edit it 
to look like
	#!/bin/sh
	exec /opt/kde/bin/startkde

Make sure that the file is executable
