I don't like the new menu either.

The menu configuration is set by:

	$KDEDIR/etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu

or:

	/etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu

to change back to the old menu, just replace it with the older one.  You 
should find it in this directory:

	http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/<version>/kdelibs/kded/
