[kde-linux] Add /opt/kde/bin to the PATH?

Is it considered desireable to add /opt/kde/bin to the user PATH?

Although I realize that some kde programs know where to find the many 
kde/bin files, it is helpful to be able to run some programs from an 
xterm or konsole.

Please let me know the current thinking on this.
