[kde-linux] Error changing keyboard layout to 'mn'

Been fooling with keyboard layouts.  Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani, 
Syriac, all work, but though the Mongolian (mn) one shows up as being 
there, it doesn't work, and I get a message, as in the subject line, 
'Error changing keyboard layout to 'mn'

My usual trick of putting the error message on Google doesn't find anything.

Anybody out there can point me in the right direction?
