[kde-linux] KDE3.4.2 Shutdown Kills LAN card on XP

Hello all

If I work in KDE3.4.2 GUI shutdown and then boot into WXPP, my network  
card is dead.
If I wait for all disk activity to end and then pull the plug on SL9.2 the
netcard then works in WXPP. "shutdown -r now" also works fine
Anyone know how to fix this?

Suse9.2 64 bit
Asustek Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter on board.
