[kde-linux] Disabling kate

                                 Hi,    
    I want to disable kate text editor in kubuntu and replace it with leafpad. I've already downloaded and installed leafpad but it doesn't show up in the System settings>user account>default applications drop-down list. My question is how can I disable kate and make leafpad my default texteditor.
