hi,
1st issue:
you are trying to install a gnome program, so it is rather unlikely you will 
get help on a kde list :)
you should ask this on a gnome list.

2nd:
you didn't provide any information about your configuration (which distro, 
version, compiler, etc..), which really makes it hard to guess what could be 
wrong.
