[kde-linux] strange kmail start

Kmail, annoingly, starts with kde, even though I have specified to start a 
clean session in kcontrol, even mentioned kmail among the programs that 
SHOULD NOT be started automatically. 

Deleting ~/.kde/share/config/ksmserverrc file did not help either.

Where could I search for the setting about kmail start? It used to be normal; 
this behavior started once I launced kmail separately, apart from Kontact....
