[Kde-kiosk] Problem with xdg menus in kde3.5 revisited

I have the same problem editing menus with Kiosktool as reported here earlier , the problem has appeared in 3 different distros i've tried, mandriva 2006.0, fedora core 4 and (k)ubuntu 5.10 breezy badger.  
   
Anyone have any idea how to work around/fix the problem?
