This is probably because kubuntu moves the menu file to /etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications.menu to stop is clashing with the gnome menu file. Please try this patch to kiosktool and let me know if it helps. http://kubuntu.org/~jr/tmp/kiosk-menu.diff Jonathan
