Thanks, yes, they are a bit too big for the list.

In the mean time I managed to reproduce the problem. Due to a bug the 
share/applications and share/desktop-directories directory are not picked up 
in the profile in some cases. You can work around it by letting KDEDIRS point 
to the profile by adding

export KDEDIRS=$(kiosktool-kdedirs)

to startkde after "unset KDEDIRS"

No, that should not be a problem.

Do you happen to change the profile directory?
