[Kde-kiosk] Easy Open Source Internet-kiosk for a laptop machine?

There is actually a project for this:

but in this case, there is no powerful server anywhere. We are using only old 
laptops. So it has to be a local system.

If BeOS had good hardware support and it could run Firefox, it would be 
perfect since it startups so fast and does not need any administration..

But now I need to find something based on Open Source..
