Hi, there this is Miguel again.
I hope this will be my final questions so I can say my desktop it is
protected against users. I am currently trying to move users from
Windows to Linux (KDE). So although my questions could seem not very
useful I am winning! my users are using Linux and they even don´t know
they are not using Windows.
These are my new questions,
1. In KDE 3.1.1 there is a new option called Open New Session how can I
disable it.
2. This is only a "freak" question I would like to change the side
image that appears when you clicl on K go button (Start -> in M$
Windows) so I can select a personal image (Xmen :^D)
3. Let´s suppose I use KWrite, when I want to save a file, a file
dialog window appears. I have the Speed bar (very useful indeed) and
there is a Text Area where I can input /usr/bla bla bla, I dont´t
want my users to open some files (I know I could change permissions
to some files) but the most important thing is that I don´t want
them to get lost (they are Windows users so they get scared when
they see "/usr/local/"). I want to do the following, how could I
disable that text area (for example I heve removed it from
Konqueror). If I haven´t explained it well I will try again :^D
4. If I disable shell access with "shell access=false" I can not run
scripts placed at Autostart. If I don´t use "shell access=false" I
shoul have to disable the option Open Terminal Here if I right-click
on a Konqueror window. Which option disables that behaviour?
One final question, this is only if you could suggest me a better idea.
We have developed a tool to authenticate users,
- A user inserts username and password, they are sent encrypted to a
server, once they are authenticated server says, hey you are always
user called guest (this is something like a profile in Windows).
- This is working but I would like to use kdm with our tool as a GUI, I
mean, user enters username and password, and kdm send them to our
server, and we finally assign credentials to the users as he was
guest.
I want to modify kdm, to introduce new code lines.... I am starting
to think this is to complicated, any suggestion? (sorry I am not a
very very good Linux users but this is my crusade!)
Well.... my questions are getting worst I know but my users are
complaining less :^D that´s why I have less questions.
Thank you! and greetings from Spain!!!
