[Kde-kiosk] Menu API

I've been have some troubles, I don't understand the KDE 3.1 menu as
much as I thought :), and googling on the search terms i've chosen have
turned up too many results to be helpful.

We have been working on a gui tool to lock down our users desktops
(gentoo kde 3.1.1a), and found most menu items in /usr/kde/3.1/applnk,
but some menu items I have not been able to find.

Have had great luck with locking everyone down by groups, but not so
much luck with finding every menu item.

Is their some good documentation on the menu, or a command line tool to
list menu items and where their .desktop files live?
