Dolphin thumbnailer is KDE module, not digiKam thumbnailer. Report this problem
to Dolphin team. Typically, KDE thumbnailer is not able to read Exif from PNG
as digiKam do. It's must not be a problem if they use Exiv2 shared library
through libkexiv2
