I'm sorry, I should have said that I use KPhotoAlbum (4.2.0).

For me, it kind of fails in digiKam, if I without selecting any picture (by
starting in My Albums) go to the Export menu and select Picasaweb and add the
pictures in that dialog by clicking the plus icon below the file list. Then,
when uploading, I get the same error as described above.

However, it works if I first select a picture in digiKam (but not in
KPhotoAlbum) and then upload. So I am not sure where the bug actually is.
