I tried out your hint about hiding the "picture selection list" to un-cruft the
geolocation window.

It looks like the old way - but it doesn't work the old way. If you select a
single new picture and invoke the geolocation window, the map does not update
to the position of the new picture but remains where it was for the previous
geotagging task. Thus you have to "unhide" the picture list and first select
the new pic in order to see it in the map. Which makes the hint currently not
very practicable ;).
