As of kipi-plugins 2.3.0, this bug has been (partially) fixed.

On removing the picture using - while it is still uploading, the picture is
removed and digikam continues and finishes the upload.

As for the expected results, when i upload multiple images, if I may suddenly
want to remove a few pictures. So I would like the remove button to stay.

Currently, even I remove one picture out of many, it still stays in the upload
queue and gets uploaded.
