Summary: IPTC subject reference code is obsolete
           Product: kipiplugins
           Version: 1.2.0
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: MetadataEdit
        AssignedTo: kde-imaging at kde.org
        ReportedBy: giecrilj at stegny.2a.pl

Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

According to private information I obtained from one of IPTC correspondents,
the Subject Reference Taxonomy used in Metadata Editor is becoming obsolete,
see also [1]. The Subject Reference Taxonomy is to be replaced by the new
Media Topic Taxonomy, introduced on June 22nd. IPTC released updated plugins
for Adobe software. The Metadata Editor should be updated accordingly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Metadata Editor.
2. Look for the Media Topic item.

Actual Results:
2. Nope.

Expected Results:
2.
There are two options: replace the Subject Reference Code with the Media Topic
Code, with an option to import old data; or provide metadata for both systems.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.34-12-desktop
Compiler: gcc
