Do I understand correctly that the originally reported bug is solved by
re-enabling V2 of Google Maps API in the user interface?

Like some others, V2 does not work for me (no map is displayed) and hence I
still miss the address searching feature.

I googled quickly for V3 API and Geocoding and found this:
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/services.html#Geocoding

So it seems that now it should be possible to search by address in V2 again.
