Ok, I've dowloaded and compiled the kipi-plugins version 1.1.0, removed kubuntu
package kipi-plugins, and made the usual cmake, make, sudo make install.

No available plugins except red-eye removal.... 

Did try some fiddle around but no luck for the other plugins. Definitly I'm not
understanding what is needed to do on Kubuntu 9.10 to make 1.1.0 plugins
available.
