[Kde-imaging] Can't find path

I am using SuSE Linux 11.2 which is up to date. Installed is Digikam
0.10.0. I run two PC's. On one I can create new albums, but cannot find the
path to my existing files in my home directory. On the other, I get "My
Albums" in the side bar, but selecting "Album" in the task bar gives a drop
down with "New" blanked out.

I have spent hours trying to find the right path to my home folder without
success and am now bald from hair tearing! Any ideas?
