About the driver version, I'm not completely sure where to look for it and
which one is the right one but this is what I found:
The package xserver-xorg-video-(ati|radeon) are version
1:6.12.99+git20090929.768e1fb-0ubuntu1
GLXinfo shows this:
libGL: XF86DRIGetClientDriverName: 5.3.0 r300 (screen 0)
