Yes, I've uninstalled kipi-plugins and then followed the steps here:
http://www.digikam.org/drupal/download?q=download/KDE4
(with running configure, make clean and make)

After installing kipi-plugins again (via apt) the menu entry is there again.
What did I do wrong? I don't have to build kipi-plugins separately, do I?
