KDE Help says that to eject a cd/dvd user should:
1. In Dolphin or 'My Computer'
2. in 'My Computer' right click in the 'Places' panel (or below 'Disk
Information') and select Safely Remove or Eject to eject a cd or dvd disk from
the cd/dvd hardware.  
3. in 'My Computer' there is no Places panel.
4. in 'My Computer' clicking (right or left) on the icon for the cd/dvd icon
pops-up a menu that does not offer any option that ejects the disk.
5. In Dolphin such an option is available and operative.
